Marv began his investment career in the trading department of a national brokerage firm while attending college and law school. At the age of 28 he launched his part-time career as a financial planner while still practicing law full-time. As a Senior Trial Attorney at the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office he managed both the Compton and Beverly Hills offices. During this time also he served as an elected, and later an appointed, trustee of the Board of Investments of the Los Angeles Employee’s Retirement Association (LACERA) that oversees an investment portfolio of over $40 Billion. Marv served as Chairman of the board for 8 years, during his 15 years as an elected and appointed board member. In 1997 Marv founded Kaye Capital Management and has served as President and CEO ever since. He is currently responsible for the strategic direction and primary research for the development and monitoring of our asset allocation models, investment process and asset selection.
Marv holds a B.A. degree from UCLA, a J.D. from Hastings College of Law and is a Certified Financial Planner® designee (CFP®) from the College for Financial Planners. He attended the Wharton School, receiving certification in real estate and money management. Although he has not practiced law since 1992, he remains an inactive member of the State Bar of California.
Marv was named as one of the top 150 wealth managers in the country by Bloomberg Wealth Manager Magazine. He has served two terms as President and Chairman of the Financial Planning Association of Los Angeles, President of the California Association of Retirement Board Members and President of the South Central District Bar Association. He was the CFO of two small corporations and has volunteered his time on several professional and charitable boards. A sought after advisor, Marv has lectured before many corporate, professional and institutional groups on investment and financial planning topics and has appeared as a guest on several public and cable television channels.

Ken Watten, MBA, CFP® | Vice President & COO
Los Angeles native Ken Watten, has been providing competent and caring financial guidance and investment management services to his clients since joining Kaye Capital Management in 2004. Ken is now the Vice President and an equity partner at KCM, currently managing both our compliance program and trading department.
Ken’s clients draw on his many years of experience helping people build and manage their wealth and literally hundreds of hours of professional continuing education. Ken takes a holistic approach to client service, making sure each aspect of his client’s financial situation is taken into account. Thus keeping his clients on the right path for financial success.
All the professionals at KCM strive to achieve excellence in their field, beginning with their education. Ken is no exception. A dedicated life-long learner he holds two Bachelor’s degrees from UC Santa Barbara, one in Business Economics and one in Political Science. In addition, Ken has completed two research studies at the prestigious London School of Economics, and has completed the Personal Financial Planning program at UCLA. Ken has been awarded the credential of Certified Financial Planner® and earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Financial Planning from California Lutheran University.
Ken has been published in the Journal for Financial Service Professionals, is a member of the Financial Planning Association of Los Angeles, and holds the title of Finance Chairman for the Los Angeles Sigma Chi Alumni Chapter. Ken also serves as adjunct professor in California Lutheran’s MBA program, and regularly teaches “Macroeconomics for Investments” to CFP® and MBA Candidates.

David W. Hilton, AIF® | Principal & Vice President
David Hilton is a principal and Vice President with Kaye Capital Management. David is responsible for managing the firms retirement services group and institutional client relations. In addition, he works with high net worth individuals providing them institutional service and support.
Prior to his current role David was a Senior Vice President for Payden & Rygel, an institutional asset management firm. In that role he was responsible for the firm’s retirement services team and managing client relations with institutional consultants and plan sponsors, including pension funds, corporations, endowments, and foundations.
Hilton is very involved in the Los Angeles community. He sits on the Board of Trustees for the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House, the Alumni Committee for Loyola High School of Los Angeles, and the Optimist Professionals of Optimist Youth Homes and Family Services.
David is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) and is currently studying in UCLA’s Personal Financial Planning curriculum towards his CFP® credential. He received a BA degree in Economics from the University of Colorado.
Ken Besada | Advisory Associate
Ken Besada was born and raised in the South Bay area of Los Angeles. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California at Berkeley in Psychology, where he primarily focused his coursework in Neurology, Neuropsychology and brain function. Like Ken Watten, he is also an alumnus of Loyola High School.
Ken is a 10-year veteran of the financial services industry, and works closely with business owners and other professionals to help them make educated financial choices. Ken’s initial training and work experience was in banking, where he became a bank manager, followed by a position operating an insurance brokerage and finally transitioning into an established financial planning firm in Manhattan Beach where he broadened his knowledge and experience. Ken has a highly developed understanding of life insurance, disability and long term care contracts, which are often vital components of the financial planning process.
Ken was quoted by the Wall Street Journal in a piece called 10 Things Life Insurers Won’t Tell Youâ€ and has been sourced by the same publication in an article called Is Your Life Insurance Policy at Risk. He has also been sourced by the Chicago Sun Times for a piece titled Universal Life Insurance Policy Could Expire Long Before You Do.
Ken joined Kaye Capital Management as an Advisor Associate, with an expertise in risk management, and a desire to expand his knowledge of financial planning and asset management to serve his growing base of business owners and professionals. To meet KCM’s high standards, Ken committed to further his education and obtain advanced professional credentials.
Kelly Kaye | Office Manager
Kelly Kaye began her career with Kaye Capital Management in 2003, and is the friendly voice greeting you when you call the office. As office manager, Kelly ensures our office is running smoothly by coordinating client meetings and providing administrative support, along with managing our human resources and bookkeeping needs.
Kelly moved to Los Angeles in 1998 and married her husband, Michael, a few years later. Between taking their son, Justin, to hockey practice and planning events for his Cub Scout pack, she is a mom that is always on-the-go. The family enjoys spending weekends together camping and playing on the beach.
David Tassone | Advisory Associate
David is an Advisory Associate with an emphasis in financial planning and wealth management for Kaye Capital.
David started his career at KPMG, where he served as Operations and Compliance Risk Advisory Associate with an emphasis in financial services, working with top commercial foreign and domestic banks. His focus was on regulatory compliance, enterprise risk management, and transformation execution. He successfully helped lead a risk function implementation and design an enterprise stress testing framework within a top 5 banks.
David is an alumnus of Loyola High School and Loyola Marymount University (LMU), both in Los Angeles. David graduated LMU Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in the Honor’s Program. He also served as LMU’s student body president his senior year.
David currently sits on LMU’s College for Business Administration Alumni Steering Committee, where he helps coordinate events for students and alumni who are involved in the business community.
He is currently studying for his Certified Financial Planning (CFP) certification through the UCLA Extension course and the College of Financial Planning.
